COUNSELLING for professionals

SHOULDN'T I BE HAPPY BY NOW?

Picture
Have you achieved success but have realised you're not happy?

Is depression or anxiety holding you back?

Do you have an intellectual understanding of your issues but still nothing's changed?

It's not too late..
Achieving material success is often an important step on the path to a life of deeper meaning because one realises that money can't buy you happiness.

This is a monumental realisation and often the catalyst for seeking deeper meaning to one’s life, and a higher purpose to one’s daily activities. If this is you then you have no doubt sensed the calling to living a more soulful life.

A job or career pays the bills

A VOCATION FULFILLS YOUR HEART AND SOUL.

If you are dissatisfied with your career it’s  time to commit to a vocation that comes with a sense of meaningful purpose. From this, material success is a byproduct and not the Driving Force.

A life’s purpose is the intersection between what you love to do, what you're good at and what the world needs.

Often what interferes with that purpose becoming clear is the need to ‘do the work’. This means healing your past, addressing psychological and emotional dysfunction, sorting out relationship issues and working through unreasonable fear and doubt. If anxiety or depression are an issue then these need to be addressed immediately or your life will remain on hold.

Some  have an intellectual understanding of their issues and this is  important,  but it’s only the first step if it hasn’t addressed the underlying emotional and somatic aspects of ongoing issues.
Often what's needed is a combination of counselling, psychological processing, emotional and somatic healing. Along with some form of meditation or a mindfulness practice and an ongoing cultivated connection to one's deeper wisdom.

An important aspect of the counselling, I believe, is tapping into the part of you that is deeper than your personality. This core self is often referred to as the spirit or your soul. The information that you’re seeking is always there, commonly known as inner guidance.

This type of Purpose is interwoven with the heart and inspires service to something beyond your self.

Often you can sense this with a rising desire to help others.

One needs a sense of Purpose that comes from living a  meaningful life.

The time is now.

In private sessions you'll be guided into experiential embodiment and dialogue with this deeper Self. This is an intrinsic part of the counselling process and invaluable as far as guiding our work towards your wholeness and liberation.

One thing I’ve heard again and again over the years is clients that have been to psychologists, (and psychiatrists) often over long periods of time and their initial problems, issues, traumas are still fresh, unresolved.
So many have said that they now understand ‘why’ they have issues but they still aren’t much better off.

In my experience, a cognitive understanding of the problem is only the ‘first step’ to healing. Steps two, three and four to integrated wholeness are emotional, somatic and spiritual.

Do you want to go deep and get to the root of the problem?

For me, working with you is not just about solving a current issue but bringing about deep fundamental change so that you can create a  fulfilling, quality life.

This is where the real healing occurs.

I guide you into the deeper layers of your psyche where we work with previously unseen or unconscious layers of your personality.

These inner journeys bring about  deep insight and profound healing. Painful emotions are discharged and you find yourself with a new lease on life.

This work draws on one’s innate longing for wholeness and facilitates the experiential realisation that love itself is the ultimate medicine.
